Environmental Pollution

Environmental pollution studies about how man pollution his surroundings. Pollutions are classified into three broad categories: air pollution, soil pollution, and water pollution. Air pollution turns clear air into smelly air. The smelly air harms health. It also kills plants or damages property. Polluted air contains gases and particulates. Most air pollution result from combustion processes. Water pollution reduces the amount of fresh water for drinking, swimming, and fishing. The water pollutants come mainly from industries and farms. Industries produce huge amounts of waste products. These wastes include chemicals, wastes from animals and plants, and other substances. These materials drain into nearby bodies or water. Soil pollution damages the fertile layer of soil. This fertile soil is very important for growing food. Animal or plant wastes from a substance in the soil. This substance is called hummus. Bacteria decompose the hummus into nitrates, phosphates, and other nutrients. Other pollutions are caused by solid wastes, noise, and radiation.
